Dynamic Aikido Nocquet (D.A.N.) is an international Aikido association under the guidance of Sensei John Emmerson, a direct student of Master André Nocquet. There are dojos in the UK, Germany, France and Belgium. The purpose of D.A.N. is to preserve the spirituality and identity of the Aikido, as taught by Master André Nocquet in the authentic manner in which he learned it from the founder O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, under whom he lived and trained in Japan.
It is important within D.A.N. to foster the family atmosphere that Master Nocquet portrayed as part of the spiritual path in Aikido.
“Dynamic Aikido in the tradition of Master André Nocquet”, which is the formal title of the organisation, was created in 1998 in the United Kingdom with the blessing of Master Nocquet, shortly before his death. In the beginning it was an organisation within the British Aikido Board (BAB) but in 2010 D.A.N. left the BAB to join the newly founded Joint Aikikai Council (JAC) in the UK which had a more direct link to the Aikikai Foundation in Japan.
Since 2017 D.A.N. International is glad to be officially recognized by the Hombu Dojo, because it emphasizes its lineage to O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba.
